Second Birthday - Playgroup Party

Hi Everyone,

These are the pictures from Gus' second birthday party with the kids from his playgroup. We had lots of fun finger painting, blowing bubbles, playing with flubber and play dough.

Enjoy,

Second Birthday - Family Party

Hi All,

Hope this note finds you all doing well and enjoying the warmer weather. I finally have gotten a few minutes to send out some photos from Soren’s second birthday.

My folks came out to visit and celebrate. They came for two and a half weeks. They came the day before my birthday. We had non-stop parties while they were here. We celebrated my birthday, Mother’s Day, and Soren’s birthday. We had two parties for Soren, one the day of his birthday with family and close friends and one the day after with all the kids from his playgroup. As it turned out, our friends the Tiso’s (also my boss) who have five boys were taking care of another family’s kids that night. So they brought 9 kids total. It was a blast. Soren wasn’t sure what to do with all those kids. He was just excited to have cake, ice cream and presents. The next day we had finger paint, play dough, bubbles, flubber and sidewalk chalk to keep the playgroup kids entertained. Of course, we had cupcakes and ice cream too.

All of these pictures are from his actually birthday and family party.

Much love,
Michelle, Thor, and Soren

Beach trip and playing in the woods

Hi Everybody,

I know it has been almost 6 weeks since I have sent out pictures. With the nicer weather we have been doing a lot more exploring and playing outside.

Soren loves going for hikes and climbing trees. We are working on the idea that we can’t stick fingers or hands in holes in the ground anymore because they may be occupied. There is a fine line between teaching him to be cautious around snakes and not to be afraid of them. We have yet to see one this spring, but with the weather only getting warmer, it is bound to happen.

He is running all over the place these days. It is so funny to see him running. He just gets so excited about everything, especially “adventures”. We try to go on at least one a day.

His vocabulary is starting to explode. He now says paws, tag, more, Manzanita (which is a very common tree here), Dada and I’m sure a lot more I just am forgetting at this moment.

Papa Sam and Nonna are here visiting. They came for our birthdays and Mother’s day. Next weeks pictures will include some from their trip. We have been having a good time and no one has killed anyone else yet.

The beach pictures are from a recent trip to San Juan Capistrano. We visited dear friends of Thor, Catalina and Big Ron Senkbeil. We had a wonderful time. Catalina spoiled us with her amazing cooking and wonderful hospitality. We also met their grandkids, Charlie and James. The boys had a blast at the tide pooling and playing together. We can’t wait to go back and visit again. Hopefully they can make it up the hill to enjoy our neck of the woods too.

I promise I will be sending out more pictures soon of the birthday festivities and the adventures of Nonna and Papa.

Love to you all,

Michelle, Thor and Soren

Easter 2011

We had a great Easter. It was a little chilly, but we still had a lot of fun. Soren looked super cute in his little argyle sweater and grey pants. He was very excited that the Easter bunny brought him a little wagon. He loves hauling stuff. I shouldn’t have even bothered with the Easter basket. The wagon had a bunch of beach toys for when we go to the beach.

After church, some of the staff cooked a wonderful brunch. After brunch we did an Easter egg hunt in the meadow. Everyone (including my staff) got into it. Some of the eggs had cheddar bunnies and matchbox cars. None of us Moms were really into give the kids candy and they did not miss it.

Like I said, I should have sent these out two months ago, but time has gotten away from me these days.

Hope you are all well. We miss and love you,

Michelle, Thor, and Gus
