San Diego Zoo

The birthday celebrations continued with a weekend in San Diego.  We went to the zoo where the highlight was the Komodo Dragon, Sunny, and the baby Panda Bear.  There were lots of cool animals, but those were Gus’ favorite.

Dog Beach

The next day we went to our favorite beach, Dog Beach.  It is the only beach in San Diego where dogs are allowed plus it has really small waves for Gus to play in.  Nonni and Gus had a blast running into the waves.

Komodo Dragons

Gus is a bit infatuated with Komodo dragons.  So when Uncle Sammy sent this stuffed alligator, he immediately thought it was a Komodo dragon.  He hasn't put "Smog" (as he named it) down since.  Thanks Uncle Sammy!

Too bad they only stay small for a short amount of time.

Picaso Peterson

Gus couldn't wait to dig into his new paint set.  It has real paint brushes and everything.  But he also wanted to use his new gloves (which he wore to church too).  So he painted for a little while and then went out to the construction site to "work".

Marlin's Easter Outfit

Mom had sent me a little outfit that was made for my brother, Sammy, when he was born.  A friend had crocheted it.  It was super cute, a little small but still really cute.  This is what Marlin wore for his first Easter.
